‘Stop Shiny Geranium’ Volunteer Day **RESCHEDULED**

*This event has been rescheduled. More information will be posted soon. Please check back for updates.

Join a fun group of GLT volunteers and staff as we continue the quest to remove shiny geranium, a highly invasive plant, from key oak habitat restoration sites at Bald Hill Farm and Mulkey Ridge. We’ll be working with hand tools to prevent this plant from spreading into sensitive habitats. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about plant identification and the clever strategies invasive plants use to outcompete them.

Recommended for ages 12 and up. Minors need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This volunteer opportunity involves walking approximately 2 miles on uneven surfaces, bending, kneeling, and being in areas where poison oak may be present.

If you have any questions, please email

Mulkey Ridge Forest Walk

This summer Greenbelt land Trust is embarking on a 2-year Woodlands Stewardship Project on Bald Hill Farm’s Mulkey Ridge. This Project aims to prevent the loss of existing oak woodland and savanna, increase the extent of oak woodland and savanna, remove invasive species, increase habitat quality and diversity, release viable legacy oaks, and reduce fire risk. You are invited to join Greenbelt Staff and forestry consultants and professionals on a Forest Walk prior to the start of the implementation of the Woodlands Stewardship Project to learn more about this new project!
