You’ve heard of the farm to fork movement, but have you done a farm to cork hike? Join Greenbelt and Lumos Wine Company for a special scenic hike from beautiful Bald Hill Farm through Mulkey Forest and Fitton Green Natural Area to Lumos’ stunning Wren Vineyard. This guided hike will wind through forest, prairies, and multiple conservation areas with breath-taking pastoral and mountain vistas. We’ll see and learn about habitat restoration, landscape connections, wildlife corridors, flora and fauna, and more.
The farm to fork movement supports local farmers and food, but this farm to cork outing will bring you a complimentary tasting of certified organic local wines (with light hors-d’oeuvres) at the historic Wren Vineyard. During the wine tasting, we’ll learn about Lumos’ prairie restoration work for the endangered Fender blue butterfly while overlooking Marys Peak and the Coast Range.
This one-way hike will be approximately 6 miles in total and requires participants to be in good physical condition to hike moderate to steep hills. Folks under 21 should be accompanied by a legal guardian. Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks will also be available. A complimentary shuttle will take you from Wren back to Bald Hill Farm. Suggested donation of $7.
