Forest Stewardship Tour

July 26, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

What restoration activities are happening at Bald Hill Farm this year? Come find out on a special tour!

Greenbelt is undertaking the second phase of its Woodlands Stewardship Project at Bald Hill Farm Conservation Area (more info HERE). Starting in 2015, Greenbelt began efforts to restore resilience and biodiversity to its oak savannas and woodlands through selective forest thinning. This Project will increase endangered oak habitats, remove invasive plants, and improve habitat quality. Trout Mountain Forestry is conducting the work under the guidance of a detailed Forest Stewardship Plan.

Join Greenbelt staff and Trout Mountain foresters for a unique mid-summer Project tour where we will be able to see the thinning in-action. Learn more about Bald Hill Farm, its forests, and the restoration work going on there.
