Volunteer Scotch Broom Removal at CBow Ridge

February 17 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join Greenbelt staff and fellow volunteers for a work party at our newest protected property, Cbow Ridge! This work party will focus on the removal of invasive scotch broom along the roads that run throughout this 1,600 acre property. We will use handsaws, shovels, and weed pullers to remove the scotch broom from the landscape.

We will be working from 10am-2pm. If you are only able to attend for part of the time, you’re still welcome to join us, just send an email to jean@greenbeltlandtrust.org to discuss.

Wear: The weather could be cold and wet, so plan to bring warm layers, a waterproof raincoat, rain pants and hiking boots.

Bring: Snacks and lunch, water bottle, and any emergency medications you usually bring on outdoor excursions for personal use (like Epi-Pens).

Accessibility notes: There are no restroom facilities at the CBow Ridge property. You can expect 2-3 miles of hiking on a gravel road as we work. No previous experience is necessary.

Location: We will be cutting Scotch Broom at CBow Ridge just north of Coburg in Lane County. CBow is located about an hours drive south of Corvallis. Full directions, instructions, and information on how to carpool will be sent to participants a few days before the event.
