Who:Individuals and organizations who serve or interact with houseless community members and can benefit from a deeper understanding of Trauma Informed Care. Our target audience for this training includes natural resource and social service professionals, volunteers, community members.
Why:Understanding the prevalence of trauma builds awareness and is an important component of trauma informed care. Training helps people understand the impact of trauma on physical, emotional and mental health, as well as on behaviors and interactions. It also helps people develop a common language and demonstrates commitment to creating sensitive, safe, and welcoming environments. Understanding the prevalence of trauma and work-related stress within the workforce is also an important component of trauma informed care.

Dr. Davis is an Associate Professor of Practice at Portland State University’s School of Social Work and a licensed clinical social worker. She is Director of Trauma Informed Oregon. Dr. Davis teaches and lectures on implementing trauma informed care and trauma specific services.
