Join Greenbelt staff and fellow volunteers for a Camas Bulb Collection work party on Tuesday, October 17th, from 10 am to 2 pm. We will collect camas bulbs from a local farm field for replanting in our habitat restoration projects.
This work party will take place at a farm located North West of Albany, about a 20 minute drive from Corvallis. If you are only able to attend for part of the time, you’re still welcome to join us, just send an email to jean@greenbeltlandtrust.org to discuss.
Wear: Dress for the weather with layers and rain protection. We will be working in a recently plowed field, so plan for mud with rain boots or waterproof hiking boots.
Bring: Tools and gloves will be provided. We will take a lunch break around noon, please bring a lunch and a water bottle with you (some snacks and extra water will be provided). You should also bring any emergency medications you usually carry on outdoor excursions for personal use (like an Epi-Pen).
Accessibility notes: No previous experience is necessary. We will hike up to 2 miles on very uneven muddy ground as we work. You can expect lots of bending and kneeling throughout the day. There are no restrooms on site.
Location: We will be working at a farm north west of Albany, which is located ~20 minutes drive from Corvallis. Directions to the exact meeting location will be provided the week before the event.
