Come on down to SW 2nd Street and Adams on Friday, September 20th between 10am and 3pm for Outdoor Rx with The Confluence partners. PARK(ing) Day offers opportunities for conversation, games, picnicking together, creating art, and relaxing and encourages people to re-envision how we use our public spaces. The Corvallis event coincides with similar events all around the world.
“We are doing this to demonstrate how interesting placemaking can happen by converting just a few spaces for one day,” explains organizer Jay Thatcher. “When a place we used to drive mindlessly past starts grabbing our interest, relationships develop with the place and the people there. That changes a corner of our city into somewhere exciting–and enhances safety.”
