Trails

Join Greenbelt staff and community volunteers to spruce up the trails at Bald Hill Farm and Mulkey Forest on Saturday, October 29th, from 10 am to 2 pm.

Tools and gloves provided. We will be performing basic trail maintenance, spreading gravel, trimming vegetation, and getting the trails ready for winter.

Wear: Long pants and closed-toe footwear required, please dress for the weather, and layers are always a good idea!

Bring: Snacks, water bottle, and any emergency medications you usually bring on outdoor excursions for personal use (like Epi-Pens). Some snacks will be provided.

Accessibility notes: Restrooms will be available at the beginning and end of the day, but depending on the portion of trail you are working on, they may not be nearby during the work party. Participants may walk for up to 2 miles, shovel and rake gravel, cut small branches and brush, and perform other tasks with hand tools. No experience necessary.

Location: We will be working at Bald Hill Farm. Directions to the meeting location will be provided the week before the event.

Interested in regular volunteer opportunities? Join Greenbelt Land Trust Staff and Volunteers for weekly trail maintenance projects at Bald Hill Farm! Projects will include everything from invasive species removal, to re-graveling trails, fence removal, and much more. Volunteers will focus on protecting restored habitat while sprucing up the trails at Bald Hill Farm for our community. No prior experience is necessary, tools and gloves will be provided for the project of the week.

Thursday Trail Volunteers will meet weekly from 12pm-3pm at Bald Hill Farm. The first weekly trail event is Thursday, January 5th. To sign up for an upcoming Thursday Trail Volunteer event email jean@greenbeltlandtrust.org.
