Citizen Science Turkey Count **FILLED**

January 27, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Thank you for your interest! This event is currently full. If you would like to be added to the waitlist, please email rebecca@greenbeltlandtrust.org.

Join Greenbelt Land Trust and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to count turkeys, conduct citizen science, and experience a beautiful winter morning at Bald Hill Farm Conservation Area. Greenbelt is monitoring non-native turkeys at Bald Hill Farm to see if their numbers may have implications for native and rare plant species. And we need your help to do it! Stay afterward for social time with coffee, hot cocoa, and treats. Experience surveying birds or wildlife is beneficial but not required.

Recommended for ages 12+. Anyone under 18 needs to be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

What it takes to do this activity:

  • Walk up to 2 miles off-trail on potentially steep or muddy natural surfaces
  • Be in locations where poison oak may be present

Note: This opportunity is subject to be rescheduled due to inclement weather since turkeys will not be as active in heavy rain or snow.

For more info or questions, contact rebecca@greenbeltlandtrust.org.
