Earth Day at Kingston Prairie
Celebrate Earth Day at Kingston Prairie! We’ll have wildflower + bird walks from 10am to 11:30 am, take a short break to enjoy some celebratory baked goods, and then from 12pm – 2pm anyone who wants to stick around can join a work party for our Mother and pull Scotch broom from the prairie.
Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided, and we have some binoculars you can borrow.
Kingston Prairie is one of the best examples of native prairie in the mid-Willamette Valley, and the early wildflowers should be putting on a show accompanied by the song of Western Meadowlarks and many other birds. Join us for a fun day caring for and enjoying the land!
WHERE: Kingston Prairie is near Stayton, directions will be provided the week before the event.
WHAT TO EXPECT: We will walk at a slow pace for up to 1 mile, over uneven, sometimes soggy and wet ground, including one optional shallow water rocky creek crossing.
Free registration is required, please fill out one registration for each person.
