Mighty Acorns – Twilight Tour at Horseshoe
Mighty Acorns – come explore outdoors with us!
We hope you can join us for an early evening of exploration and adventure! This time we will learn about nocturnal animals with a focus on owls and bats! We will also explore the trails and stop to listen to the sounds of nature and take time to notice what changes as the sun goes down.
We’ll start with a story and introduction to sounds and animals at night followed by a walk for about a mile along a mowed path at this lovely property that is adjacent to the Willamette River between Corvallis and Albany. After exploring, we will make our own “paper airplane” flying bat to take home.
What and Where? Explore nocturnal animals at Horseshoe Lake. Bathrooms are not available at this location, so plan accordingly!
When? Saturday, August 22, 2026, 6 pm – 8 pm
Who’s Invited? This is an exclusive event for Mighty Acorns and their families! Not a member yet? Sign up to join the club HERE and we’ll have your welcome packet at this event!
What to wear/bring? Dress for the weather! We will be walking on a mowed path in short grasses and vegetation along the edge of a prairie and in floodplain forest, so long lightweight clothing and closed-toed shoes is the way to go. Please bring a water bottle and snacks if you want. Also bring your curiosity!
Space is limited for this walk, so you need to register in advance. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
