Oak Basin Tour

Take a tour of Greenbelt’s newest conservation easement property – Oak Basin in the Coburg Hills of Lane County. With 428 acres of diverse forest and prairie habitat, including an important high-altitude population of Fender’s blue butterfly, Oak Basin is a significant addition to a regional stronghold of protected lands with high conservation values.

This tour will include up to 3 miles of moderate to strenuous hiking, including on uneven or wet ground and steep slope. Please be prepared for the weather and consider whether this tour will be safe and comfortable for you.

Landowner Jim Merzenich will share his decades of knowledge and work in sustainable forestry and land management on this tour as we climb into the high prairie for some great views and blooming wildflowers.

Meeting location and details will be provided to registered participants one week before the tour. It is a 45 minute drive from Corvallis to Oak Basin.

EVENT LIABILITY WAIVER

I hereby release and discharge Greenbelt Land Trust, its directors, officers, employees, partners, affiliates, and successors, as well as the real property owner (if not owned by GLT) from any and all liability or responsibility for any such accident or injury I might sustain in connection with the actions of the outing. I assume all risks associated with my activities and the activities of others, associated with the outing.


I authorize Greenbelt Land Trust to use photographic images and video taken during the event for promotional purposes without any further consent or approval. I understand that my name and contact information are not shared nor sold outside of Greenbelt Land Trust. Any contact information I share with Greenbelt Land Trust is kept private and confidential.


By signing I acknowledge that I have read the foregoing Liability Release Waiver and understand its contents; that I am at least eighteen (18) years old and fully competent to give my consent; That I have been sufficiently informed of the risks involved and give my voluntary consent in signing it as my own free act and deed; that I give my voluntary consent in signing this Liability Release Waiver as my own free act and deed with full intention to be bound by the same, and free from any inducement or representation.
