Lets Pull Together Day at Harkens Lake

Join Greenbelt as we do our part for Lets Pull Together Day 2026 on March 16th from 9am-12pm. Hosted by conservation organizations across Benton County, Let's Pull Together Day is a volunteer extravaganza focused on invasive species removal throughout Benton County. This year Greenbelt staff and volunteers are working at Harkens Lake to remove invasive Garlic Mustard and make space for native species to thrive. We will use shovels and trowels to remove the Garlic Mustard. No previous experience is necessary and mustard pullers of all ages are welcome! Tools and gloves will be provided. If you are only able to attend for part of the time, you’re still welcome to join us, just send an email to jean@greenbeltlandtrust.org to discuss.

We are celebrating Benton County Historical Preservation Month with a walk at Bald Hill Farm.
Greenbelt Land Trust has been working with ornithologists since 2017 to research Oregon Vesper Sparrows at Bald Hill Farm and other Greenbelt sites. Oregon Vesper Sparrows use grassland habitats like the pastures and prairies of Bald Hill Farm, and their numbers are in decline due to lack of suitable habitat.
We hope you can come out to this second annual free STEAM celebration event on the OSU Campus at PRAx in Corvallis. Greenbelt Land Trust will be there along with lots of other community partners promoting and celebrating all thing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics! At our activity table we will be focusing on native bees, butterflies, and moths. We hope you can stop by to see us and take a closer look at these critical pollinators and learn about our restoration efforts that support them!
