April 22, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Bald Hill Farm

Looking for a hands-on Earth Day activity? Want to help protect rare oak habitat? Join Greenbelt and OSU's Center for Civic Engagement for a savannah stewardship day at Bald Hill Farm. We'll be removing conifer seedlings that are encroaching upon oak savannah habitat. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Minors need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This volunteer opportunity involves hiking 1-2 miles on steep slopes with uneven ground and in an environment where poison oak may be present. To sign-up, fill out the short form below. If you have any questions, please email rebecca@greenbeltlandtrust.org.

April 20, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Celebrate Earth Day a few days early with a fun and relaxed outing to Greenbelt's newest conserved property, CBow Ridge in the Coburg Hills. Whether you've never tried birdwatching or are an experienced "twitcher" you can enjoy this walk of 1-2 miles on gravel roads and through meadows, with some elevation up and down as we explore this diverse property.

We will have a spotting scope to share and a few pairs of binoculars to borrow. Our walk will be led by Caryn Stoess. Driving time from Corvallis to the meeting spot is about 45 minutes. Click here to register!

MAKC Wildflower Walk at Kingston Prairie

April 18 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Mighty Acorn Kids Club Members - join us Saturday, April 18th, 2026 from 10 am to 12 noon to walk through the wildflowers at Kingston Prairie. It is one of the best examples of native prairie in the mid-Willamette Valley, and the early wildflowers should be putting on a show accompanied by the songs of Western Meadow Larks who make their nests in this location west of Salem.

This event will be held in conjunction with our Earth Day Celebration and anyone who wants can stay after the walk to enjoy some celebratory baked goods, and/or bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy and then join us for as long or short as you'd like to pull invasive scotch broom. It is an all ages volunteer experience and highly satisfying to give back to protect this beautiful place!

For the volunteer work party, tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided.

Join us for a fun day caring for and enjoying the land! Space is limited for this walk, so you need to register in advance. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Click here to register!
